Invitation

On behalf of the organizing committee, I invite you to join us in Toronto for the 4th Bi-Annual St. Michael’s Hospital Vascular Access Symposium – Access to Science in Hemodialysis. The sub theme for this years program is access cannulation….so relevant to access longevity and yet often times not emphasized in vascular access science.

The inclusion of basic science, clinical practice and epidemiology informs the translational theme of the meeting.  Further, the multi-professional participants ensure that the lessons learned are most efficiently delivered to the patient.  Our goals are to inform participants on the state of the art, to challenge the limits of our clinical understanding and to encourage collaboration among professional groups.

We have assembled an outstanding faculty to harness the interest and momentum generated at the meetings in 2005, 2006 and 2008. We ask that you, the participants, further enrich the academic mission with challenging questions and explanatory insights.

Back by popular demand, the program will include the workshops that address current and practical issues related to the care of hemodialysis vascular access.

We extend our gratitude to the generous sponsors who have provided their support in the form of unrestricted educational grants. Without them, this learning opportunity would not be possible.

We look forward to your active participation in this exciting and educational two days!

Sincerely,

Sandra Donnelly, MDCM, FRCPC, MSc
